A WOMAN suffering from terminal cancer was diagnosed just nine months after losing her mother to the same disease.

Kerry Rogers wants her dreams to come true and to wed her partner Dan Ray.

Kerry, 39, and Dan, 35 first met online and were together for four years before Dan popped the question.

Kerry lives with her three children, Ellise, 17, Allyah, 16, and Declan, eight, at their home in Poole.

She was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in May 2021, just nine months after her mother passed away from the same disease.

Bournemouth Echo:

Unfortunately, scans confirmed that the condition had spread to her brain, spine, bones, and face, making the illness terminal.

Carly Rogers, 42, her sister said: “Kerry was at her absolute worst and had to endure intense and toxic chemo and radiotherapy which seemed to be in never-ending cycles.

“New treatments and therapies and scans then took over the next year or so until here we are today.

Bournemouth Echo:

“[This week] we received the news that at this stage of my sister's incredible and inspirational fight with cancer, every minute now is precious and the time to make memories is now.

A GoFundMe page has now been launched to give Kerry the perfect wedding day she has always dreamed of.

So far, more than £4,600 has been raised, surpassing the initial target of £3,500.

Carly added: “It's brilliant that they're trying to make this a really lovely day for her and her fiancé.”

“We've been offered a free venue and wedding cake; it's just been phenomenal support.

“Kerry and Dan are desperate to have a wedding and be a married couple at last.

“And although the wedding day they were planning is no longer possible we would love to make their day as perfect as we possibly can.”

Bournemouth Echo:

The family would also like to extend thanks to the people who selflessly donated to Kerry's wedding day and honeymoon costs.

Carly added: “As a family, we can't thank everyone enough for the amount of generosity they’ve shown.

“It means the world to us and it really wouldn't be possible without them all.

“Every single donation and every single offer has touched us.”

The pair are due to tie the knot on February 17.
