THREE Bournemouth restaurants have been shortlisted for the 2024 Deliveroo awards with each voter having the chance to win £500.
The highly anticipated annual Restaurant Awards recognises popular local eateries from independent burger joints to neighbourhood sushi restaurants.
This year three Bournemouth restaurants have been nominated for the categories of ‘Best Thai’, ‘Best Chicken’ and ‘Best Burger & American’.
Koh Thai, on Poole Hill, represents the ‘Best Thai’ category and serves authentic cuisine from curries to stir-fries.
The restaurant aims to offer a diverse menu with food catering to each taste, including gluten-free and vegan options.
Chicken and Blues on Wimborne Road is being celebrated for its ‘Best Chicken’ and is even offering voters a ‘tasty reward’ if they win.
The chicken restaurant first launched in Boscombe in 2013 and is now located across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.
Its indulgent menu offers BBQ chicken wraps, a range of sides as well as plant-based choices.
American style burger restaurant, Nathan’s Famous, on Old Christchurch Road, has been shortlisted in the category of ‘Best Burger & American’.
Nathan’s Famous was originally founded in New York over 100 years ago in 1916 and serves dishes from burgers and chicken sandwiches to hot dogs and its recent plant-based menu.
To promote the awards, British TV entertainer, Rylan, has recreated a few iconic celebrity award season moments, with a foodie twist.
One of his three looks includes Lady Gaga’s controversial meat dress from the MTV Music Awards in 2010 and took 20 hours to recreate.
Rylan said: “As a takeaway connoisseur and one of Deliveroo’s most loyal customers, I’m so excited to be involved in the 2024 Restaurant Awards.
“It's no secret I love a cheeky takeaway, so I can’t wait to join the judging panel and help choose the deserving winner of the Beating Heart of the Community category.”
The awards boast 60 categories including 50 regional cuisine-led titles and the coveted Independent Restaurant of the Year awards.
Beating Heart of the Community is one of several new categories, also including Rider Love and Best Customer Innovator.
Will Shu, CEO and founder at Deliveroo said: “This year’s awards are bigger and better than ever and we are delighted to have Rylan joining our judging panel.
“The Restaurant Awards are designed to give our customers the chance to champion and celebrate the wealth of great food right on their doorstep - so get voting to see your favourite spots snap up the titles!”
Votes can be made via the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards website and will close on Sunday, January 21 at 11.39pm.
Winners will be announced on Deliveroo’s social channels on Thursday, February 15.
