A Dorset home has been named among the top five holiday cottage stays for 2024 in the UK.
Hill View Cottage, which is located in the village of Langton Matravers on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, was included on the list from holidaycottages.co.uk.
It was included among cottages located in Devon, Northumberland, the Peak District and Leith Shore in Scotland.
On the profile for Hill View Cottage, it says: "With views of the Purbeck Hills and dating back to the 18th century, this delightful holiday cottage is perfectly situated in a picturesque village in the heart of a popular walking and cycling area."
Profile of Hill View Cottage
Hill View Cottage was renovated in 2017 but retains some original features including exposed stonework and a Purbeck flagstone floor in the lounge.
Its open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is described as "light and spacious" with plenty of seating, a wood burner, a TV and a choice of books and games.
Meanwhile, there is a "stylishly designed" kitchen, a drying area with hanging space for coats and boots and a washing machine.
Heading up to the first floor there are three bedrooms including a king-size room decorated in "restful, natural tones and with views over the garden".
Externally there is a south-facing enclosed garden at the front of the cottage, which contains a patio and BBQ which means you can enjoy alfresco dining.
The profile adds: "You can admire the views of Swanage Bay from the garden, and across to the Isle of Wight on a clear day."
The cottage would be useful for those looking to explore the local area and to take their dogs along.
There is good availability to book Hill View Cottage up until September, and this can be done on the website here.
The cottage has also been well-received on the site, with one reviewer who stayed in 2023 commenting: "Fantastic cottage - everything you need, and great for walking and beautiful views.
