MEYRICK ROAD in Bournemouth was eerily quiet this morning after yesterday’s major incident which has left five people hospitalised.
A Dorset Police van remains on sight outside the Roundhouse Hotel but all cordons have been removed from the scene.
The Roundhouse Hotel has not commented on the incident but has posted on its doors that they are closed.
Multiple officers were seen canvassing the area last night in search of something believed to be connected to the incident.
A forensic investigation van was seen parked outside the college late last night.
One passerby this morning said: “Bournemouth is f****** crazy” as they walked past Bournemouth and Poole College where the incident took place.
Bournemouth and Poole College released a small statement yesterday, A spokeswoman for the college said: "We understand that an incident has occurred outside the Bournemouth Campus of Bournemouth and Poole College this afternoon.
"Police are currently in attendance, and our team is assisting them as required.
“Due to the incident being a police matter, we are unable to comment further at this point in time."
People in the area were left shocked by the incident.
Henry Tootal, a 20-year-old student, said: "We saw all the police cars and three people being taken out on stretchers and people have been injured.
"We saw two people surrounded by armed policemen outside the hotel."
Kirsty Collins, 34, said: "It's just a shock, you don't expect to go to the shop to get your dinner and come out and see all these people walking around looking for things in bushes and bins.
"It's scary, really."
A spokesperson for the Southwestern Ambulance Service said: “We sent five double-crewed ambulances, three air ambulances, and two operations officers.
"We conveyed four patients by land ambulance to Poole Hospital and one patient by land ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.”
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, while a third person has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.
Daily Echo saw three men getting detained outside the Roundhouse Hotel shortly after the incident occured.
Following the initial response of officers at the scene, this matter is now in an investigative phase and a policing presence will remain in the vicinity.
