A THIRD man has been charged following a fatal crash on the A338.
James Connors, 29, of Solihull in the West Midlands, is due to appear in court today after a crash that killed 31-year-old George Greaves.
Emergency services were called to the A338 spur road at around 9.25pm on June 15 last year to a crash involving a Nissan Micra and Lexus GS300.
The front seat passenger of the Nissan, Mr Greaves, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, with two other occupants from the vehicle taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing the Lexus and tow other vehicles driving at speeds of more than 80mph in the moments leading up to the crash near the Ashley Heath Roundabout.
The Lexus driver, Yusif Muzil, 23, of Cricklewood in London, was jailed for 12 years in September for causing death by dangerous driving and two charges of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Last November, following further enquiries by officers to identify the drivers of the other vehicles, Dannie Thomas O’Leary, 29 and from London, was arrested.
O’Leary was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and two offences of causing serious injury by dangerous driving as well as fraudulent use of a registration mark or registration document and causing death by driving a vehicle with no insurance or where the driver is unlicensed.
He is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, February 16.
Connors has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst disqualified, causing death by driving a vehicle with no insurance or where the driver is unlicensed and fraudulent use of a registration mark.
He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court on Thursday, February 1 following his arrest on Tuesday, January 30.
