OFFICERS recovered stacks of chocolate bars after catching a shoplifter in the act.
Bournemouth Police chased down and detained a person who was caught with quantities of chocolate bars.
A large amount of Ferrero Rocher, Lindt and Cadbury chocolate bars were stolen.
The incident occurred in Bournemouth town centre on February 17.
A spokesperson for Bournemouth Police said: “PC Morrison was alerted to a shoplifter in Bournemouth town centre on Saturday by Town Rangers who has fled from the store with a large amount of chocolate stolen.
“Police Officers from C squad South promptly apprehended the suspect, and the items were recovered.
“With the use of town CCTV, the suspect was charged with overwhelming evidence and remanded to appear in court for the offence of theft by shoplifting.
“Bournemouth Police will deal with prolific shoplifters who target local businesses and commit offences within our town centre.”
