THERE will be disruption on major roads in Dorset today as Sunseeker transports ‘abnormal loads’ across the county.

The luxury yacht manufacturer will be moving loads between Poole and Portland, today, Monday, February 26.

The company will be assisted with escorts from Dorset Police’s road policing unit, as required by law for moving loads such as these.

The force said there will be ‘slight disruption’ on the A35 and A354 as the loads are being moved, but it said that officers will ‘make it as brief as possible’.

Sunseeker confirmed that the 'abnormal load' is a moulding tool being transported from Poole to Portland, and it is in transit as of 10.30am today.

The luxury boat-builder is based in Poole Harbour but has a large facility in Portland.

It was founded in 1969 and sells yachts to clients across the world.
