The London fashion week, known as one of the “Big Five” global fashion weeks alongside Milan, Paris, New York and Tokyo, is considered a staple event in most calendars. Suzanne Kinlough from Dorchester was first presented the opportunity to take part in the show in 2019. After applying, she made it through to the final two artists. Despite not getting in at first, the experience only inspired her more and the following year, Suzanne received a place. She described the event as “surreal” stating how she “was almost in tears.”
Although always having a keen interest in makeup as a young girl, Suzanne never considered the possibility of a career down this pathway. It was only until later that she rekindled her passion for makeup, starting the professional course Girl Meets Brush the Academy, and practising on her friends and family to create a stunning portfolio. Since 2019, Suzanne has been published in prestigious magazines: Elle, Vanity Fair, Harper Bazaar and Vogue. She has been back to the London Fashion week nine times, working her way up to a key makeup artist and has taken part in movies and series including hit Netflix show Bridgeton. Suzanne has also reached international publication, working on photo shoots in Iceland and attending the Paris fashion week.
Inspired from her experience in London, Suzanne has successfully created her own eyeshadow palette. The pro palette is specially designed to cater to everyone and for any occasion. It offers a range of shimmer and colour to compliment all eyes and skin tones as well as bridal, basics and smoky looks. The makeup artist said she wanted a palette that anyone can use, calling it “the one palette you need”.
Suzanne aspires to work in all the “Big Five” global fashion weeks and hopes to get regular work in film and TV, continuing her inspirational journey.
