THE BODY SHOP in Bournemouth town centre will shut its doors for good in seven days, as all items are reduced.

It was announced last week the town’s store would face closure along with a further 74 shops, making 489 people jobless.

The high street skincare and cosmetics chain announced plans to close nearly half its stores after falling into administration.

Administrators from FRP Advisory said the latest closures will take place over the next four to six weeks however, Bournemouth’s closure is much more imminent.

Staff at The Body Shop in Commercial Road have confirmed its last day will be on Wednesday, March 13.

Marking its closure, all items are currently marked as 30 per cent off.

Joint administrator, Tony Wright, said ‘swift action’ to stabilise the business ensures the best opportunity for the brand to have a long-term, sustainable future.

“The UK business continues to trade in administration, and we remain fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward,” said Mr Wright.

The Body Shop in The Dolphin Poole currently remains open and has not been listed as one of the planned closing stores.
