A NEIGHBOURHOOD in Charminster has turned to the police for help after being terrorised by ‘unnerving’ and ‘strange’ activity.
Households in Stewart Road and Bennett Road have woken up to random bricks left outside their homes and eggs smeared on their windows.
One resident described how the ‘weird happenings’ were 'like something you’d see in a Netflix movie'.
The activity reportedly occurred every night from Monday to Friday last week.
Residents suspect one woman was behind it, and were able to catch her on a ring doorbell egging one of the properties.
They say they do not know who she is.
The Echo spoke to a resident who did not want to be named in fear her home would be targeted further.
She said: “At first, we thought it was someone having a prank, then I spoke to neighbours up the road, and they said they’d had the same thing.
“It’s happened to about eight houses.
“I’ve got to laugh about it now but at first it was very unnerving.
“The eggs we can clean up, although they are staining no matter how many times we wipe it.
“I was a bit worried that they kept leaving bricks, to me that’s a threat.”
The resident said she and other neighbours reported the incidents to Dorset Police.
She added: “It’s just strange, so we did ring the police. It was like a movie out of Netflix or something.
“We think it’s just the one woman doing it. It’s seemed to be all women she’s targeting as well, everyone I’ve spoken to that it has happened to has been a lady, so that’s strange as well.”
Another resident, who also wished to remain anonymous, said: “There was bricks left outside by block of flats, I’ve had eggs thrown at my balcony.
“I have anxiety, so it makes me not want to leave the house unless I have to.”
Dorset Police said it had no records of the incidents on their logs.
A crime reference number provided by one of the residents related to a report of harassment, which police said there were no further updates available for.
