A WOMAN was seriously injured after an assault in a public toilet.

It is reported on the afternoon of Sunday, March 10, a woman in her 30s was assaulted by a man in the public toilets in the East Cliff area of Bournemouth

She was treated in hospital for serious injuries to her legs, arms, shoulders, back, head and face.

It is believed the victim and the suspect are known to one another.

Detectives investigating the report of a serious assault are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Detective sergeant Emma Swann, of Dorset Police, said: “A detailed investigation into the incident is underway and the victim is being supported throughout our enquiries.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and saw or heard anything suspicious to please contact us.

“I am also aware that several members of the public came to the victim’s aid at the time of the incident and I am keen to speak to any of them who have not already contacted police.

“I would also ask residents with home CCTV, or motorists with a dashcam fitted who were travelling in the East Cliff area around the time of this incident, to please check their footage for anything of relevance.”
