EMERGENCY services were called to rescue a woman stuck in the mud at Barton on Sea.

HM Coastguard’s Lymington, Poole and Southbourne Coastguard rescue teams were sent alongside Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and South Central Ambulance Service to free the stuck woman.

The incident occurred at around 3.30pm on March 12. 

The woman recovered from the mud and was taken into the care of the ambulance service.

Firefighters from New Milton, Redbridge and crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service attended. 

A spokesperson from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews were called at around 4pm to the incident off of Waterford Road in Highcliffe.

"Working with Coastguard teams, HIWFRS deployed a mudpath to reach and rescue the casualty before she was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.

"Firefighters began to leave the scene following the stop message at 5.19pm."
