A MAN has been arrested after multiple flats were broken into in Dorset.
Several distraction burglaries have been taking place in the Upper Parkstone area.
Officers identified and arrested the man on March 14 after conducting door-to-door enquiries and gathering evidence.
He was arrested for four counts of dwelling burglaries and has since been released on conditional bail.
A spokesperson for Poole Police said: “Through proactive enquiries and cross-department working, a man has been arrested for 4 x counts of dwelling burglary and has been remanded on conditional bail.
“There has been a series of distraction burglaries in the upper Parkstone area mainly targeting blocks of flats owned by housing associations.
"These occurred earlier this week.
“The Poole Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) conducted quick-time house-to-house enquiries, gathering evidence/intelligence and providing prevention advice to victims.
“The suspect was promptly identified and arrested yesterday by our colleagues from the Neighbourhood Enforcement Team (NET).
“Neighbourhood Policing Teams across the conurbation work in this timely manner to ensure prolific offenders are brought to justice and vulnerable victims are safeguarded.”
