A WOMAN has been found dead on a path leading to Bournemouth beach.
A passerby had found the woman on Middle Chine in Westbourne just before 6am on Wednesday, March 27.
Emergency services rushed to the pathway and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officers are treating the death as "non-suspicious" but an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances.
A cordon was put up along the pathway and forensic crime scene investigators were also seen in the area, according to residents.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at 5.53am on Wednesday 27 March 2024 that a woman had been found unresponsive in Middle Chine beach in the Westbourne area of Bournemouth.
"Officers attended with the ambulance service and sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The coroner has been notified.
"An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
"A cordon is in place at the scene and there will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out."
