A FIRE broke out in a bungalow in New Milton at 6.15am on Tuesday.
Two fire crews from New Milton and one from Lymington extinguished the fire at Barton Drive, Barton on Sea.
The ground floor area affected measured eight by seven metres and was severely damaged by fire and the roof area was heavily smoke logged.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus kits and two high pressure hose reels to deal with the flames, and also used ventilation equipment to help disperse the smoke.
Ambulance staff treated one man at the scene.
