A DRIVER was assaulted and one person was hospitalised after a car crash in Christchurch.
Initially, Dorset Police reported a crash around 2pm involving two cars and that the ambulance service was present.
Castle Street was partially blocked for a few hours this afternoon while emergency services dealt with the incident.
At around 5pm, a spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 2pm on Thursday 4 April 2024 to a report of a two-vehicle collision in Christchurch.
"Officers attended with the ambulance service. It is reported that one of the drivers was assaulted by the driver of the second vehicle.
"There were no serious injuries.
"Enquiries are ongoing into the incident. No arrests have been made."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 14:09hrs on Thursday 4 April to a road traffic accident in Christchurch.
"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.”
