A residential area in Bournemouth has been named as one of the best places to buy a house in the UK, according to The Times.
Southbourne was featured in a list by the publication where it named 25 locations which would be good to invest in this year.
They wrote: "The Sunday Times has identified 25 locations in the UK that are improving the most. They are all on a strong upward curve. It isn’t just large-scale regeneration schemes that can turn a place’s fortunes around.
"The list includes places with improved transport links and new shops and restaurants, as well as the impact that arts, culture and entrepreneurial energy can have."

Southbourne praised by The Times
According to Rightmove, properties in Southbourne had an overall average price of £469,806 over the last year.
It added: "Overall, sold prices in Southbourne over the last year were 4% up on the previous year and 15% up on the 2021 peak of £409,993."
Meanwhile, The Times praised the area for its access to quality beaches and "pleasant streets".

It said: "This corner of Bournemouth has one of the best stretches of beach in an area famous for its golden sands.
"For all the crowds flocking to the double-decker beach bar Sobo Beach for draft Estrella and gourmet burgers, it rarely gets too busy.
"Climb up the cliff path and away from the sea and you’ll find pleasant streets as well as family-sized Edwardian and 1930s detached houses, from £500,000."
