JUST days after playing a storming gig at Southampton's Guildhall veteran shock-rocker Alice Cooper got all shook up when a promotional film he was shooting in Los Angeles was rudely interrupted by California's latest earthquake.
The wild man of rock was on location at East LA's Linda Vista Hospital when tremors measuring 5.4 caused the earth to move in a big way.
The quake the strongest since the devastating 1994 Northridge quake, shook Alice, the band, and everyone on the set (including director Piggy D) into a stunned silence.
Now the singer, who says he was choking a nurse at the time, hopes the incident will add a unique element to the promo for his Along Came Spider album.
"The floor started moving. Whoa, this is more powerful than I thought!
"I hope they keep it! You can't get special effects like that," enthused Cooper.
Ironically a few days later the singer found himself in another hospital after taking an on-stage fall midway through his Psycho-Drama show in Redmond, Oregon.
He crashed violently onto the stage but few noticed just how crushing the thud was - most figured it was part of the show.
Although in pain, Alice continued with the performance before going for a check-up where he discovered he had cracked a rib and suffered ligament damage.
Doctors advised him to take three weeks off.
"Fat chance," says Cooper, who is continuing his tour unrestrained.
