STRONG winds are forecast to bring ‘hazardous’ conditions along Dorset’s coastline.
The Met Office has brought forward its yellow weather warning for strong winds all along the coastline to 9pm this evening, April 8.
Previously, the warning was in place from 1am tomorrow morning, Tuesday, April 9.
The warning will now run to 9am tomorrow morning, instead of midday on the same day.
The warning is in place from the Kent coastline to the Devon and Dorset border, encompassing Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Swanage, Weymouth and Dorchester.
It also includes much of the Devon coastline and all of Cornwall.
The Met Office said: “Strong winds are likely to bring hazardous coastal conditions and could cause some inland disruption.”
The forecasters said that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities are likely to be affected by spray and/or large waves.
This, it said, would mean that delays on roads, the railway, air and ferry transport are likely.
Short term loss of power and other services are possible, too, the Met Office said.
As well as bringing forward the warning by three hours, the office has increased the peak winds expected by 5mph.
