Dorset Police have said they believe the Hicks Farm barn fire was 'deliberately' set on fire.
Dorset Police have confirmed that it has launched an investigation into the barn fire at Hicks Farm, Throop Road, in the evening of April 22.
Attended to by 35 firefighters, Police stated they also attended the scene to assist the fire service.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police received a report at 7.21pm on Monday 22 April 2024 of a barn fire in Throop Road in Bournemouth.
"Officers attended to assist the fire service. It is believed the fire was started deliberately and enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances. There were no injuries reported. No arrests have been made."
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire remain on scene with an asbestos-lined roof making it difficult to clean out the debris due to health and safety risks.
The fire involved a 20m x 10m wooden barn contained wood and hay.
Three main jets were used to extinguish the fire with the stop coming at 10.36pm.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We’ll be leaving the scene soon, it looks as though the fire was started deliberately so the investigation is now with Dorset Police."
