You Me at Six, Opera House, Boscombe
SURREY'S You Me at Six (YMAS) performed a sold-out gig at The Opera House prior to their slots at the Reading and Leeds Festivals 2008.
Attack! Attack!, Not Advised and Furthest Drive Home all provided support during the evening - each band raising the temperature with their setlist. By the end of Attack! Attack!'s performance, the crowd were hardly able to contain themselves waiting for YMAS to grace the stage.
YMAS, who are up for Best British Band at this year's Kerrang Awards, went all out in order to show they were worthy of that title, performing a dynamic stage show for the appreciative gathering.
Opening with Jealous Minds Think Alike, the five-piece played their way through several tracks expected to be featured on their forthcoming album, Take Off Your Colours.
Their banter seemed to comprise inside jokes, but the fans obviously didn't mind as they jumped around and danced to every song. Audience participation was encouraged at every opportunity.
Though they are still fairly new, they showed the qualities of a well-established and experienced band, knowing exactly which buttons to press.
