A MAN who stepped in to stop a fight between school children was hit from behind and repeatedly kicked.
The victim, in his 40s, was outside Oak Academy in Duck Lane, West Howe, at the end of the school day at 3pm on Friday, April 19.
Police say a fight broke out between two school pupils outside the school before the man stepped in to stop them.
However, the force said he was then hit from behind and then kicked repeatedly while on the ground by another man.
He, as well as a 12-year-old child, both attended hospital for minor injuries.
Police constable Emily Dilke, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this assault and establish the full circumstances of how it happened.
“We know that it occurred during a busy time of the day with many members of the public present, and we are keen for anyone who witnessed what happened who hasn’t already spoken to police to please come forward.”
