The Dorset County Show - September 6&7
This year, all the familiar traditional show favourites, including livestock, home crafts, horticulture and vintage transport, are joined by brand new events and attractions that will appeal to all ages.
Add the 450 trade stands, dazzling displays from the Royal Artillery's motorcycle display team, The Flying Gunners, the impressive Festival of Hounds, in the main arena and live cooking demos from some of Dorset's finest chefs, all using local produce and you're talking a full-on day out for the whole family.
Speaking of which, for the little ones there's an Ofsted registered crèche with baby-change and breastfeeding area, and for the older or less agile, there are mobility scooters available for hire.

The Friends of Forest Holme Lunar Walk - September 6th
Don your PJs and join this midnight walk in Poole to raise funds for Forest Holme palliative care.
It is hoped that up to 500 people will walk the 10-mile route raising an anticipated £25,000. Gill Christian of Forest Holme explains that the organisation supports the latest initiatives for end of life care and says: "We are proud to have always strived to offer patients choice and the best specialist care whether at home or in the unit.
"We provide a safe environment, which makes holistic care available to patients who have life-limiting illnesses and we provide support for their families. Crucially their care is individually tailored to meet their physical, psychological and spiritual needs.
"However, providing this level of care and choice costs money, which is why events such as the Lunar Walk are so important."
