YOU can't help but like Lars. The lovable loner has more baggage than Terminal 5 when it first opened, preventing the 27-year-old fully embracing life. So much so the poor chap is too nervous to hold a conversation, while the thought of a hug or handshake scares him to death.

However, all changes when Bianca enters his life - a plastic doll Lars bought on the internet.

Yet this is no seedy sex toy, this is his new "girlfriend".

What follows is a heart-warming, amusing journey through the artificial relationship, the town's warm reaction to her and the effect it all has on Lars.

It's hard not to enjoy this film. It's funny, original, warming and resisted the no-doubt strong temptation to be mushy.
