A MAN reportedly made anti-Semitic comments and assaulted a man and a woman in a high street.
At around 11pm on Saturday, May 4, the pair were reportedly assaulted by the man in Swanage High Street.
It was also alleged he made anti-Semitic comments towards the victims.
Neither victim suffered serious injury.
A man aged in his 40s from Swanage was arrested on suspicion of religiously aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault.
He has been released on police bail as further enquiries are conducted.
Now, officers investigating the reported assault and hate crime are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.
Police constable Katy Ross, of Purbeck police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and I am keen to speak to any witnesses who have not already spoken to police.
“I would urge anyone with information that might assist our enquiries to please get in touch.”
