TWO ducks were ‘shot’ and killed in Bournemouth.
Police responded to reports of ‘awful’ animal cruelty at a duck pond in Lavender Road in Throop Village.
The incident happened at 6.30pm on Thursday, May 16.
A resident reported three to four occupants in a blue Peugeot ‘drove up and shot two ducks' with what was thought to be a sling shot.
The resident said: “They put one of the dying ducks into the car but discarded it further down the road.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 6.30pm on Thursday 16 May 2024, Dorset Police received a report of animal cruelty at a duck pond in Lavender Road in Bournemouth.
“It was reported that two ducks were killed by two people who were believed to have got out of a blue hatchback car.
“Enquiries into the circumstances of this incident are ongoing. No arrests have yet been made.”
