THOUSANDS of people partied in the park at the first day of the Poole Park Fest on Sunday. Britain's unseasonable summer weather meant crowds were basking in sunshine one minute and sheltering from spots of rain the next.
But that did nothing to diminish the festival spirit, which has grown with every year of the Daily Echo-backed free event.
The main focal event was the Mr Kyps live music stage, which was surrounded by a sea of people enjoying picnics and a drink or two.
Sunday's live acts included the Martin Harley Band, an Elton John impersonator and Bob Marley tribute band Legend, while today's line-up includes the Rat Pack and Beach Boys Inc.
Children enjoyed themselves on giant inflatable slides and funfair rides while more adventurous types tackled climbing towers and walls.
Rockley Watersports offered people the chance to try their hand at kayaking, boating or windsurfing and riders from the Animal Relentless bike tour showed off their skills with thrilling freestyle demonstrations.
Visitors were also treated to Eddie Chu's colourful Chinese dragon dance and were able to take part in a modern jive workshop.
Market-style stalls offered everything from incense to shoes and various local charities were represented.
Hunger pangs were staved off with a variety of food from around the world, including crepes, Thai curries and burgers.
It's hoped this year's festival will prove even more popular than last year's, which attracted a record 22,000 people. Donations collected will benefit the Friends of Poole Park.
