TRAVELLERS have set up an encampment at Bournemouth's Meyrick Park.
There is reported to be five caravans and vehicles currently at the site. It is claimed the gates lock was broken to gain access to the site.
Witnesses say there has been an Audi 'racing around the field' and dogs tied on leads outside the caravans.
A nearby resident said the encampment was set up on the evening of Sunday, May 19.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.49pm on May 19, of an unauthorised encampment in Meyrick Park in Bournemouth.
Officers attended the site and have been liaising with those present as well as BCP Council.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our local partners and will take appropriate further action if required."
