A POLICE cordon is in place after a man was stabbed in an assault.

Officers received a report of a man with suspected stab wounds in Kinson at around 1.10pm this afternoon.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

Another man, aged 35 and from Bournemouth, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The pair are believed to be known to each other.

An investigation is underway, with a police cordon in place in Garsdale Close.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at around 1.10pm on Monday 20 May 2024 that a man sustained suspected stab wounds following an assault at an address in the Kinson area of Bournemouth.

“Officers attended the scene, along with the ambulance service, and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. A 35-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

“It is believed that the victim and the arrested man are known to one another.

“A full investigation into this matter is underway, led by detectives from BCP CID, and a cordon has been put in place at the scene as enquiries are carried out.

“There will be an increased policing presence in the vicinity and officers can be approached by members of the public with information or concerns.”
