A MAN was punched by a driver after being knocked off his bike when a car door was opened.
The victim, aged in his 60s, was punched in the arm while on the ground during the incident in Midgham Road, Fordingbridge.
Police have released an image of a man they want to identify in connection with the incident which happened at 2.40pm on Tuesday, May 14.
The car and the bicycle were both stationary at the time.
The victim suffered no injuries as a result of the assault.
The man police want to identify is described as white, aged in his early to mid-20s, of skinny build and with mousy brown hair.
He has a tattoo on his right hand and a stud earring in his right ear and was wearing a dark blue T-shirt and sunglasses on top of his head.
Police say he was driving a blue Honda Civic.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows his identity, to get in touch with us.
“Also, if you witnessed anything of the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage which could aid our investigation, please contact us.
“You can do this by calling 101, or by reporting online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, quoting incident number 44240202021.”
