ANOTHER traveller site has been set up just days after being closed down.
On bank holiday Monday, a group of travellers set up an unauthorised encampment at Meyrick Park.
Dorset Police received a report at 5.14pm on Monday, May 27, of an unauthorised encampment in Meyrick Park in Bournemouth.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers have attended the site and have been liaising with those present and the local authority.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and work with our local partners and will take appropriate further action if required.”
A committee member at Oakmedians RFC, who has asked to remain anonymous, said: “Something needs to be done.
“We will most likely have to cancel out young kids' presentation because it just isn’t worth the risk.”
BCP Council has been made aware of the encampment.
A BCP Council spokesperson said: “Our staff will be attending the site to confirm and carry out the statutory welfare and educational needs assessment, along with any necessary risk assessments, to determine the level of support to be given to the group.”
