A BOURNEMOUTH man has been arrested for attempted robbery at an Esso Garage and hitting a shop staff member with a bottle.
Dorset Police have arrested and charged Bournemouth man, Samuel Derry Marshall, 26, with attempted robbery and assault after a man reportedly entered an Esso garage on Kinson Road on April 20 at 2.10pm and argued with a staff member before hitting them with a glass bottle.
The man went on to demand money from the till and threw a second glass bottle in the victim's direction before leaving.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "At around 2.10pm on Saturday 20 April 2024 a man reportedly entered the Esso garage in Kinson Road and argued with a member of the shop staff before he hit them over the head with a glass bottle. It is alleged that the man then demanded money from the till and threw a second glass bottle in the victim’s direction before leaving the premises.
"The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a head injury.
"Following enquiries and a CCTV appeal, a 26-year-old man from Bournemouth was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted robbery and assault. He was due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 24 May 2024."
