A RETROSPECTIVE planning application for a waiter’s kiosk at a quayside restaurant has been lodged.
Da Vinci’s Restaurant, at Poole Quay, has put in the application for the kiosk, which it said was installed due to high demand for its outside seating.
In a design statement submitted as part of the plans, the restaurant, which is opposite Newfoundland House, said: “The site is for outside seated area as part of the Da Vinci’s Restaurant and was given approval [in 2023].
“Subsequently, due to its popularity, full-time on-site waiter service has been required and the kiosk provides the on-site servicing bay for provision of goods/services for the waiting staff.”
A heritage statement added: “We believe the installation of the waiters kiosk does not distract from the historic environment and therefore preserves the heritage setting in this area, and having personnel on site adds to the security and safety along this part of the Quay.”
The kiosk is located in a corner of the outside seating area.
Neighbour comments are welcome on the application until June 22.
There is no decision date set for the application at this stage.
