A MAN is due in court after a fatal crash in Castle Lane last year.

Benjamin Stacey, 41 and of Bournemouth, has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 31.

This is for offences of causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving whilst disqualified and causing death by driving without due care or consideration while unfit through drugs.

The crash happened at around 6.30pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Castle Lane West and involved a Volkswagen Polo and a Honda motorcycle.

A woman aged in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man from the motorcycle was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries, and the female driver of the car was uninjured.

A 41-year-old man, Stacey, was arrested in connection with the incident.

Now, following an investigation, he has been issued with a postal requisition.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
