VANDALS smashed a window on a bus causing the service to be cancelled.
The 10.43pm Morebus service 14 from Kinson was cancelled in West Howe after one of the vehicle’s top windows was smashed.
There were no injuries as the bus was empty and the driver was unharmed, but the operator said the situation ‘could have been very different’ and that it would be pursuing a prosecution of the offender.
Andy Shaw, operations manager for Morebus, said: “One of our service 14 buses suffered damage yesterday evening.
“We were forced to terminate the service at West Howe, when one of the vehicle’s top windows was smashed.
“There were no passengers on-board at the time, and our driver was not injured.
“However, the situation could have been very different, and we have reported this act of vandalism to the police. We will be pursuing the prosecution of whoever is found to be responsible.
“Our bus is being repaired by our engineering team, and services have now returned to normal.”
The Daily Echo has contacted Dorset Police for more information.
