A MAN threatened a woman with a knife while attempting to steal her dog in Bournemouth.
It was reported that between 11am and 11.10am on Monday, May 27 2024, the victim, a woman aged in her 30s, was walking her dog around Redhill Common when she was approached by a man wearing a balaclava.
The man reportedly threatened the woman with a knife and told her to hand over her dog.
When she refused, and the dog began barking, the man made off in the direction of Redhill Avenue.
The offender is described as white, around six feet tall and of slim build. He was wearing a grey tracksuit with a matching top and bottoms.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
Police Constable Louis Kellaway of Bournemouth police said: “This must have been a very distressing encounter for the victim, and we are carrying out a full investigation to identify the offender.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area on the morning of Monday, May 27, 2024, and witnessed any suspicious activity or a man matching the description given to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from any residents living around the area of Redhill Common or motorists who were driving in the vicinity if they have captured any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.”
