A SINKHOLE has closed a road in Boscombe.
Boscombe Cliff Road has been closed to motorists after a sinkhole has appeared in the road with BCP Council saying it aims to fix it by tomorrow, May 30.
The council has said pedestrians can still access the pavement but it has fenced off the road.
A spokesperson for BCP Council said: “Our team is currently working to fix a sinkhole in Boscombe Cliff Road. Whilst they are working the area is fenced off and the road is closed to traffic. Pedestrians can still access the path.
“We anticipate that the works will be finished, and the road re-opened, by 8am tomorrow morning."
Morebus said due to the road closure, it will be diverting its 70 route via Michelgrove Road/Percy Road and Byron Road in both directions.
This will mean the San Remo Towers stop towards Hoburne only and the Wollstonecraft Road stop both ways will be missed.
A spokesperson for Morebus said: "Due to an emergency closure on Boscombe Cliff Road the 70 is diverting via Michelgrove Road/Percy Road & Byron Road in both directions.
"This may last for a few days."
