POOLE RNLI volunteers were called to help a yacht off Poole Harbour's entrance which had encountered issues earlier in the day.
The 28ft yacht with one person on board suffered difficulties off Poole Harbour's entrance on May 30 at 6pm.
Launched to conduct a welfare check, the RNLI crew found the vessel to be safe and secured the boat to a jetty with the help of residents.
A spokesperson for Poole RNLI lifeboat station said: "Poole lifeboat launched just before 6pm to conduct a welfare check on a 28ft yacht with 1 person on-board who was near the harbour entrance and had unfortunately encountered some issues earlier in the day.
"When the lifeboat volunteers arrived on scene, they found the vessel was safe, secured to a jetty and the person on-board had been assisted by residents who had taken his lines and made him some tea."
They added: "The yachtsman was happy to rest up for a while and sort himself out later. The lifeboat crew were happy to launch to check all was well and returned to station, the lifeboat was made ready for service by 7pm.
"A shout out of thanks, to the residents for being such good Samaritans, safely providing a helping hand and warming cuppa, to the yachtsman."
