AN ELDERLY woman who became trapped in an overturned car has been miraculously left with no life-changing injuries.
The driver aged in her 80s was recovered from the vehicle by the fire service after it had flipped in Adastral Road in Poole.
Dorset Police arrived at the scene at 12.54pm on Sunday, June 2 after reports of the single vehicle collision.
Crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service joined police officers at 12.58pm, where they worked with paramedics to remove the woman from the car.
Officers have confirmed the woman was treated by the ambulance service for injuries not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
Adastral Road was closed while emergency services were at the scene.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to Adastral Square, Poole at 12.58pm yesterday (Sunday 2 June) after a car left the road.
“Two crews from Poole attended and firefighters worked with paramedics to remove one casualty from the vehicle.
“Our stop was at 1.48pm.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 12.54pm on Sunday 2 June 2024 of a single vehicle collision in Adastral Road in Poole. It was reported that the vehicle had overturned.
“Emergency services attended and the sole occupant of the vehicle, a woman aged in her 80s, was treated by the ambulance service for injuries that were not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
“The road was reopened at around 2.45pm.”
