TWO jet skiers who capsized off Bournemouth have been rescued by RNLI volunteers.
Mudeford RNLI lifeboat Station was called at around 7.30pm on June 1 to rescue the riders on a jet ski who had capsized and were drifting a mile south of Bournemouth Pier.
The crew launched at 7.40pm and were on scene by 7.50pm and were able to quickly locate and rescue the casualties who were cold but otherwise 'safe and well'.
Graeme Staddon, Mudeford RNLI volunteer launch authority, said: "The two casualties did everything right. Even in summer, the sea can be very cold. Both were wearing lifejackets and wet suits and had a means of raising the alarm once in difficulty.
"They had also informed their families where they were. All these factors contributed to a successful rescue and recovery."
The crew took the casualties back to shore to their families before it towed the jet ski to Baiter Park and returned back to the station at 9.20pm.
The Mudeford Servant Atlantic 85 lifeboat has launched 29 times in 2024.
