A CHARITY shop has thrown open its doors to its new store with a grand opening from the deputy mayor.
Age Concern Christchurch was forced to relocate after the end of its lease but is “thrilled” with the new location.
The charity shop has been based at 85 Bargates for 12 years but general manager, Mary Ansell-Carter, said the move may be for the best.
“We didn't want to move our Christchurch shop, but we're thrilled with our new location,” said Mary.
“It's convenient for our regular customers and, with the new spot, we hope to welcome many new faces.
“Our staff and volunteers have worked incredibly hard to prepare for the grand opening, and I can't thank them enough.”
Deputy mayor of Christchurch, Cllr Vivienne Charrett, officially cut the ribbon to the new store on May 29.
Age Concern Christchurch is now located at 34 Bargates and is open from 9.30am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
