A MAN has appeared in court after being found with a machete near Christchurch town centre.
Miles Maddock, 20, was in possession of a machete in Millhams Street North in Christchurch on November 3 last year.
Maddock, of Briar Close in Christchurch, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Monday, June 3.
The defendant admitted a charge of possession of a sharp pointed article in a public place.
He also admitted a second charge of using threatening, abusive, insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in Purewell, also on June 3.
Maddock was handed a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
