THE runners and riders have been unveiled in July's sprint for a seat in the House of Commons.

Across Dorset and the New Forest the 10 seats will be up for grabs when residents go to the polls on Thursday, July 4.

The full list of candidates for each constituency was published on Friday afternoon, June 7.

All of the candidates who won the last election are seeking to retain their spot in parliament.

There are also some familiar faces from the world of local government in Dorset on the candidate list.

BCP Council leader Vikki Slade is standing in Mid Dorset and North Poole, a seat she attempted to win in 2015, 2017 and 2019 but lost out to Tory Michael Tomlinson.

Her colleague and cabinet member for finance Mike Cox is standing against Sir Chris Chope in Christchurch and Jeff Hanna is standing in Bournemouth West.

New Green councillor Joe Salmon and independent cabinet member for housing Kieron Wilson will join Tobias Ellwood in the race for Bournemouth East
