A SUSPECT is still on the run after a man was assaulted in an early hours attack.

The victim, in his 40s, was in Christchurch Road between Manor Road and Boscombe Spa Road at around 1am on Saturday, June 8.

Officers were said to be doing “extensive” enquiries into the attack on Saturday morning and a cordon was placed in the road during the nighttime.

However, in an update to the Echo on Monday morning, a spokesman from Dorset Police said no arrests have been made.

When asked for more details around the attack, he said: “This matter remains under investigation and we are unable to give any further information on the circumstances or the nature of the injuries at this time.”

Officers are describing the man’s injuries as “not believed to be life-threatening" and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
