A MAJOR Bournemouth road will be closed for multiple weeks for resurfacing works.
Holdenhurst Road, a road used by many motorists, will be closed in phases over the next coming weeks.
According to BCP Council, the reason behind the extensive works are to ‘facilitate carriageway reconstruction and resurfacing works’.
Emergency services will still have full emergency access.
According to One.Network, the first phase will see the junction of Buchanan Avenue to the junction of Ashley Road closed to all vehicles.
Buchanan Avenue will also be closed roughly 30m from its junction with Holdenhurst Road.
This will begin from 7am on June 27 until 6pm on June 28 and again from 7am until 6pm on July 1.
The second phase will see the junction with Ashley Road to the junction with Harrison Avenue closed to motorists. Ashley Road and Harrison Avenue will also be closed for the last 30m from their respective junctions with Holdenhurst Road.
This will also begin from 7am on June 27 until 6pm on June 28 and again from 7am until 6pm on July 1.
The third phase will see the junctions of St Ledger Place to Edgerton closed.
Maddison Avenue will also be closed to motorists for the last 30m from its junction with Holdenhurst Road.
This will begin from 7am on until 6pm on July 2 and again from 7am until 6pm on July 4.
The fourth phase of the works will see the road closed to all vehicles between Property Nos. 438 and 383. Jefferson Avenue and Edgerton Gardens will also be closed at their respective junctions with Holdenhurst Road with a left turn only out of Edgerton Gardens.
This will begin from 7am on until 6pm on July 3 and again from 7am until 6pm on July 4.
The last two phases of the works will see Capstone Place close to the junction with Curzon Road. Washington Avenue will also be closed.
This will begin from on July 8 at 7pm and run until 6am on July 9, these works will be overnight.
The final phase will see Curzon Road and St Mary’s Road closed to all vehicles with a one-way traffic order on Curzon Road temporarily revoked to permit two-way movement.
This will begin from on July 8 at 7pm until 6am, these works will be overnight.
