THE following cases were heard at Poole Magistrates' Court:

JUNIOR TURAGA, 20 and of Bridport, admitted two counts of driving without third party insurance, in St Thomas Road in Dorchester on April 23, and in Trinity Street in Dorchester on June 7. He admitted two counts of driving while disqualified, in St Thomas Road in Dorchester on April 23, and in Trinity Street in Dorchester on June 7. He admitted drink driving in Trinity Street in Dorchester on June 7. He admitted committing a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order made by Dorset Magistrates Court on November 16, 2023. He was jailed for 20 weeks and disqualified from driving for two years.

ADAM JASON LEE MERRIFIELD, 51 and of Christchurch Road in Bournemouth, was convicted of speeding on the A36 in Wylye on July 28, 2023. He got six points on his licence. He was also fined £461, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £184, and costs of £85.

JOSEPH BENJAMIN HARRIES, 32 and of West Hill Road in Bournemouth, was convicted of an offence while a community order made by Dorset Magistrates Court on February 27 was in force. He was handed a new community order with new requirements to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and rehabilitation activities.

DARREN KNIGHTS, 43 and of Tedder Road in Bournemouth, admitted theft from a shop after stealing meat to the value of £77 from Costcutter in Cunningham Crescent in Bournemouth on February 10. He was ordered to pay compensation of £77.

RICHARD COVERSON, 46 and of Bournemouth Road in Poole, admitted harassment by breach of a restraining order, by emailing the person he was prohibited from contacting between July 7 and September 24, 2023. He was handed an eight week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

AARON SMITH, 28 and of Swithun’s Road in Bournemouth, admitted drug driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without third party insurance, in Old Wareham Road in Poole on September 26, 2023. He was disqualified from driving for three years and handed a community order lasting until June 9, 2025, with a requirement to complete 100 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

LUKE GREGORY, 27 and of Ayton Drive in Portland, admitted assault by beating after assaulting a woman in Dorset on September 23, 2022. He also admitted failing to surrender to custody at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on June 6 having been released on bail in criminal proceedings. He was handed a community order with a requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid work within 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £114 and costs of £620 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

DANIEL GRAHAM, 43 and of Parkstone Avenue in Poole, admitted driving before he had successfully completed an appropriate initial certificate of professional competence test on the A31 at Ashley Heath on December 7, 2023. The competence test was required by regulation 4(1) of the Vehicle Drivers (Certificates of Professional Competence) Regulations 2007. He was conditionally discharged for a period of three months. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £26 and costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
