A "unique" Christchurch restaurant has been named among the Top 100 in the UK for outdoor dining according to a new list from OpenTable.

Cliffhanger Restaurant on Waterford Road was featured alongside a few others in Dorset including The Old Inn in Wimborne.

Discussing the creation of the list, the publication wrote: "As the weather warms up, it’s time to dine outdoors. To help find the perfect alfresco spot, OpenTable has scanned diner metrics and over 2.2 million reviews to narrow down the restaurants where Brits love dining outdoors.

"The result is our annual Top 100 Restaurants for Outdoor Dining, offering delicious food at alfresco hotspots nationwide."

Cliffhanger Restaurant has been well-reviewed as a whole on OpenTable, earning a 4.4/5 score from 150 ratings and on Tripadvisor too with a score of 4/5 from 1,683 ratings.

On its profile, it describes itself as "the South Coast's premier destination for unforgettable evenings of entertainment".

It adds: "Our packed calendar features fantastic tribute acts and events catering to various musical tastes, from The Beatles to Take That.

"Each night promises a unique atmosphere, excellent entertainment, and delicious food that will leave you wanting more."

As the name of the restaurant suggests, it is located on top of a cliff which offers views out to sea.

On its own website, it mentions the "stunning views of the surrounding area" that provide the "perfect backdrop for any occasion".
