MOREBUS is celebrating the arrival of six brand new buses to serve its X3 service, with two special events planned this month.
The new double decker Alexander Dennis E400 MMC vehicles will serve the popular route between Bournemouth, Ringwood and Salisbury.
Representatives will be on hand on Tuesday, June 18, at two of the locations advising customers and handing out goody bags.
“These are the latest additions to our Morebus fleet, and represent an investment of £1.8m,” said Morebus managing director, Andrew Wickham.
“We have updated these vehicles with a different style of seating to make them more spacious and comfortable than ever, and each has the latest Euro 6 low emissions engine.
“They also sport on-board technology - offering USB charging points for smartphones and hand-held devices, and contactless ‘tap on tap off’ ticketing facilities.
“This new investment is all part of our commitment to making bus travel more attractive for those living in and visiting the region.
“With just one fully loaded double decker having the potential to take up to 75 cars off our roads, we’re keen to do all we can to reduce congestion and improve air quality.
“My colleagues are looking forward to meeting our customers at Salisbury market and by the X3 stand in Ringwood on 18 June, and they will be happy to advise on any aspect of the bus service we operate here.”
