MP CANDIDATES will face residents again to answer housing related questions ahead of the election.
Housing and homelessness charity Shelter, in collaboration with Citizens Advice, is preparing to host a general election husting for Bournemouth East on the theme of housing and cost of living.
Due to attend is Tobias Ellwood, on behalf of the Conservative Party, Tom Hayes, on behalf of the Labour Party, Jeff Hana, on behalf of the Liberal Democrat Party, and Joe Salmon, Green Party candidate.
The husting will take place between 7pm and 9pm on Wednesday, June 19, at Quaker Meeting House in Wharncliffe Road, Bournemouth.
A spokesperson for Shelter said: “As the election approaches, we know many Bournemouth East residents are impacted by the housing emergency and cost of living crisis.
"We want to provide an opportunity for Bournemouth East residents to hear from candidates, and for candidates to pitch their vision for housing, to Bournemouth voters.
“This is an issue close to home for all Bournemouth residents. In England 1.3 million households are waiting for a social home.
"In the private rented sector 3/10 renters say they have had to borrow money in the past month to keep up with payments, and every day 172 families are served a section 21 (no fault eviction notice).”
