THE first full episode of a documentary showing behind the scenes at a new wine festival is set to be released this week.
Dorset Wine Festival will take place at Highcliffe Castle in October.
In the lead up to the event, a documentary is being produced to showcase the preparations for the festival and its sponsors, including AFC Bournemouth and Chewton Glen.
A preamble to the documentary was released on the festival’s YouTube channel on June 3.
This featured festival organiser Simone Ippolito, Joe Hayes from Kindful Creative, who are producing the documentary and Garry James from sponsors Foundry.
Simone said he was ‘very thankful’ for everyone who had watched the first episode.
“There's been some really great comments that are going to help us improve the next episodes,” he said.
“A big shout out to Foundry for allowing us to record in their podcast studio, which has been amazing.
“I've never done a podcast myself before as well. It's all a learning curve and it's all a discovery for us at the moment.”
The organiser said the documentary will show ‘what it takes to bring the festival to life’.
“The struggles, all the behind the scenes that people might not know of or think of,” Simone said.
“Equally, who are the people that are actually making this festival happen, which are the main sponsors and also the vineyards locally that we want to promote because we are a Dorset-based festival, and we want to promote local vineyards that people might not know are in their backyard.”
Simone said he was drawn to Foundry as a sponsor for the community they have created, saying that the festival is aiming to bring a wine community together.
“It doesn't necessarily have to be wine experts or wine lovers,” he said.
“Even people that want to start exploring the world of wines can attend the festival and get a good understanding of what makes a good wine a good wine and equally what makes a bad wine a bad wine.”
Episodes of the documentary will be released every Monday, with the first full episode to be released on Monday, June 17.
